All ALL the broken ones I have (15 odd) have a problem with paper pickup. Replacing the rubber roller fixes them, but there has GOT to be a better way since it is so time consuming to replace. Has anyone had any success with using a 'rubber renue' compound on the roller? The MG chemicals 'Rubber Renue' works for all of 2 days and then it's back to iffy paper pickup. And gives this error you are seeing. Thanks for the detailed instruction on repair. If I find a roller solution, I'll add the heatsink, but I haven't seen this problem in any of 50 odd LJ2/3 printers around here. Nice printer to have! ;o))) So what are you doing differently that you don't have pickup roller problems? Maybe some friend from the list have a spare around ;o))) My HP3 became a dead brick, and I miss her working :o((( Yes, they are really solid printers, which is why I've collected many that were being 'trashed' in the hope that I could find a rubber roller solution that lasted. This is a common problem so surely there is a solution for it. Robert -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways. See http://www.piclist.com/#archives for details.
