That's why so many companies make a bottom-line judgement that it's better to have a predictable fraction of pissed-off customers than to provide real support. Maybe the limping economy will inspire companies to start offering real customer value, but I sure don't count on it happening overnight. Phone-jail menus and surly outsourced support people are likely to be with us for long while.
