Hi Jinx. I think www.epanorama.net has a section about doing stuff like this. And IIRC Gord McComb's Robotics Handbook (I think that's what it's called...subtitled something like 99 inexpensive projects) had something about interfacing with a PC. The original version (that I have somewhere) only deals with older PCs, but there is a new edition out that may have more info.
