Wrong place, definitely. As you can see in the video, the wall absorbed nothing like the force it should have, leaving the car to absorb it. Although race cars are designed to take some abuse, this was above and beyond the call of duty. Probably the most violent crash I've ever witnessed in many many years of watching motorsport.
