you could pick up some of that brush on electrical tape. comes in all sorts
of colours ;-)
the stuff i have here is made by North American Oil Company from Atlanta, GA
comes in a 4fl oz can with a brush on the cap.
pretty good stuff. i use it all the time to patch extension cords that get
the sheath damaged, and to seal the terminals on the cord ends.

i think i paid about 7.50 Cdn at an auto parts store for it.
