Hello.

Forgive me if I seem stupid to this topic. I have been interested in Pic's
for some time now and never until today managed to actually find time to
look into them further.
I have been interested in Dallas Semi 1 wire network stuff and consequently
temperature logging, humidity and rainfall etc using the Pc serial port. I
find it annoying though that the computer has to be on and most of the time
idle just to be able to monitor temperature etc. My aim is to develop a
logger of some sort using the pic 16f84 and maybe either Dallas 18b/s20 or
DS1621. I am not worried about current temperature display although that
would be nice, but more of a Min / Max temperature and time interval
temperature, so I can connect to the serial port after a period of time say
overnight and download the raw data.
Like I say I am very new to Pic's but very keen to start.

Please let me know any ideas, projects, source or in fact absolutely
anything that would help me make this a success.
