One of my first projects was to make a "safe" safe. I have two pic16f84a inside a safe, the first pic scans the keypad and controls passwords on the safe and send a code to the second pic that checks the safe's "attack" status and drives a servo, led's and a buzzer. Are there a "safe" way to unprotect code on a 16f84a. If there are please let me know...I have access to the first pic's serial programming pins(GND, Vcc, Mclr, RB6, RB7) and the other pins that is connected to the keypad. The owner of the safe lost his user and master pin and I have long ago discard the hard coded master pin... To override the first pic with a new program will also not work, because I also do not have the hard coded pin on the second pic. If I can get around the protection bit, I would be able to read the information on the pic to open the safe again.
