Thanks for your response.  I agree with you, and so I was intending to
retain the extra loop unless I received definite confirmation that it is
now redundant.  However, as you'll see from my later posting, I now have
this from Microchip, so I will take the opportunity to remove the "BTFSS
/ GOTO" combinations.
