Sorry to disappoint you but we have been using these devices for a couple of years now, in fact they are now so mainstream that they are in the Farnell Catalogue along with evaluation boards. We treat them as just another sensor, nothing special, they are just more precise than a cmos gate (and considerably more expensive) Regards Chris Carr ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gennette, Bruce" To: Sent: Monday, October 29, 2001 4:39 AM Subject: EE: Exciting new touch & proximity technology > While looking for a perimeter alarm I found this - > > Seal devices against all possible contamination > Detect switch 'pressing' through 50mm of panel (32 switches per sensor chip) > Measure all sorts of fluid levels > Detect approach to and crossing of boundaries > Directly operate via logic output, or > Communicate via uart or SPI @ 5MHz > etc, etc, etc starting at US$6.00 in single quantities (110 series) > > http://www.qprox.com/background/applications.shtml > > Be sure to download the White Paper and the Product Summary Guide > > > WOW ! > > Bye. > > -- > http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList > mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu > > -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
