Does anyone know how to get "request" the CAN "controller Area Network" ID from a device using software. I have a CAN bus transducer and have the paperwork for the protocol but no ID. I'm using an Infineon 167CR-LM test board to try in establishing communications with the transducer. I am new to the "CAN" bus standard. I think I have to send a remote frame "request information" to the transducer with the ID of the device (in this case the transducer). I am using the same transceiver on the test board as the transducer transceiver and can see the communication with a scope. But, without an ID I'm stuck. Edward S. Bockhoefer PAT America, Inc.
