A superheterodyne radar detector (most of them if I am not mistaken) has a local oscillator, which it mixes with the received signal to detect the presence of an incoming signal. I'm told most can be detected, don't know from what range though. The signal radiated is unintentional "stray" RF. I've been planning to turn my old Cobra detector into a ham transceiver, I'm told it's prety simple. I just can't figure out what I'd use to tune it, since 10G frequency counters don't grow on trees locally. Dale -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
