Hi Vanja, I didn't know the LCD manufacturer myself, I stay in Canada but am working on a project for my customer (a manufacturer) from Hong Kong. They are responsible for sourcing the custom LCD themselves, but as far as I know, there are many vendors (some are quite small) in Asia that will fabricate custom LCD (LCD with your required icons) for you at low cost. You need to pay them a one-off design fee (a few hundred US dollars or less, I guess), then later the cost of the LCD when you order in volume. I may ask my customer for more if you really need the details. The >shift register used there is 74HC595; the nice thing about this kind of >register is that you can connect a bunch of them in a series, so you can >control a number of segments using only four I/O lines from your PIC. > >Looking forward to hearing about your experience with custom LCD's. > >Thanks, Vanja. > _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
