I recently upgraded my development environment to MPLAB 5.3. My ICD, which had worked well on previous versions of MPLAB, now does not recognize that the debugger is connected. I had a very old version of the ICD (one of the first produced) and thought perhaps this was because I had never upgraded the firmware on it. So I got a 16LF876 and burned the new code into it with my PicStart. I carefully checked the fuse setting before burning the chip and the PicStart/MPLAB reports that the chip verifies fine. I'm still not having any luck. I've not done the resistor upgrade to the ICD, but I'm running it on a full 5 volts, so I don't think that should be the problem (or is it?). Shortly after I did the MPLAB upgrade I also switched from Windows98 to Windows2000, but I couldn't get the ICD to work before I did the operating system upgrade either. Has anyone else had this difficulty? Any thoughts? Thanks, John Hansen Professor of Computer Science State University of New York College at Fredonia -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
