Guys you can't have the SWITCH to the Supply, and the LED to GND. Make it to GND and it with SHORT the LED and you'll not have to worry about it coming ON during a Key Press..... The TRICK is what the INPUT sees as a HIGH LOGIC Level... In the DC Spec it is 2 Volts for a TTL Buffer INPUT.....
