I just went through this excercise a month ago. I'm in the Midwest US, so this may not be relevant to you. Tstevan, who is on this list, has an inexpensive house in Bulgaria, and ships worldwide. He'll pipe up here in a minute, I don't remember the contact info. People use him from Aussie-land, so it's not unreasonable to use him from the US. If I was in Europe I'd definitely be giving him a call. Advanced Circuits www.4pcb.com is the house I use most. They are near Denver. They were cheapest in a comparison quote with several other mfr's. I just paid about $35US each for three boards about 3" X 4" on 3 day turns . 10 Boards would have been about $150US total, the price really does not go up with volume. Most jobs will cost at least $100. They will do boards in a day (plus shipping time) and over the weekend for more money. Like the rest of the industry, they will not give you a business net 30 account if you do less than $500US a month in business with them, so get your credit card handy. They have a really cool online quote generator, and their small lot prices can include soldermask, odd shaped boards, component outline silkscreen and the works at your option. These guys are amazingly efficient. AP Circuits http://www.apcircuits.com/ has two levels of service. Their cheap prototype service (PROTO1) is pretty reasonable, but only includes square boards with no soldermask and no compoinent outline silkscreen. They suggest if you need an odd shaped board, run a line of holes around the edges. Proto1 is basically a one-size-fits-all prototype board. They are located in Alberta. Same $500 a month lower limit for business accounts, credit cards talk. I did not locate ANYONE ELSE who could match the prices of these guys. Most houses wanted ten times as much money as Adanced Circuits for the same work! It would be easy to do $500 a month with these other guys. -- Lawrence Lile ----- Original Message ----- From: "D Lloyd" To: Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2001 3:20 AM Subject: Re: [OT]: PC Board manufacturing for less than an arm and a leg? > Hi, > > Where are you?
