I think that oil tankers have provisions to lead engine exhaust fumes into the empty cargo hols. Maybe this could be modified for aircraft using a bleed in the trubine exhaust. I don't think that it could be used in cars, for fear of CO poisoning inside. Anyway air is only 21% oxygen and if you get rid of it somehow then it is an inert gas for most purposes.
