Hi All, I'm currently in the process of selecting a memory chip for a battery powered datalogger using a 16C76. This application requires a 1Mb or 2Mb Flash memory chip in SOIC8 package. I am considering an Atmel or an ST part. What I was noticing in the datasheets, was the relatively high current consumption of these parts reaching 15mA in write mode. Is this normal with Flash parts? If I look at the same parameter of a 256kb EEPROM chip from Microchip it is only 3mA. Since my application is battery powered I would like to store my data as power efficient as possible. Are there other ways (technology wise) to do the writing more efficient? Thanks!
