Hi, There are portable/battery oprated CO detector, much like a smoke detector widely available ( at least in US). I've even seen units made specifically for use in a motor homes. On one unit that I have, the battery and the CO chemical sensor are replaceable as a unit( good for ten years?). This plugs into the main body. I can see an side-looker LED and a detector-possibly IR. I would suspect the chemical sensor changes it's optical property wrt CO level. I have a '73 VW 412 that uses gasoline to heat the interior of the car. It actually has gasoline furnace + air to air heat exchanger. I live in the rust belt, so I would never dare to operate it Regards, Robertf --- Original Message ----- From: pic list To: Sent: Wednesday, September 19, 2001 3:25 AM Subject: [EE]:Carbon Monocide detector? > Hi all, > > Hope everyone is fine wherever you are.
