Hi folks, I have a cdrom problem that I was hoping for some insight on. I installed a new piece of software, and subsequently had problems with my cdrom (seemed to have trouble reading). Eventually the CDROM quit... won't even spin up. I unloaded the software, removed and reinstalled the CDROM (both physically and in software) and still it does not work. Windows 98 recognizes it, and loads a driver for it, but the CDROM is unusable. Normally, I would think the drive bit the dust. However it seemed very coincidental that all this started right after (within minutes) the loading of a program. I know cdrom's are cheap, so I'll probably pick one up and try it. However, I am worried that the OS is hosed. Will reloading win98 over top of itself cause any problems. Any insight greatly appreciated, Scott -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY! [EE]:,[OT]: ->Other [BUY]:,[AD]: ->Ads
