Isn't this backwards?  It's the idiots that put their own address as
REPLY-TO that are a major annoyance.  You think you are writing a response
the whole list will see, and only one person gets it.  I wish the list
server would just set REPLY-TO to the list address regardless of what was
there originally.  Unfortunately James doesn't want that, so it's not going
to change.
