An interesting aside regarding this first item.

We had our secretary on the phone all morning trying to find a blood
bank within a reasonable distance that could take a vanload of
volunteers on short notice.  No luck.  People have apparently got the
message about blood donations, big-time: the earliest appointment we
could get, anywhere in the area, was for late next week.  They told us
they are absolutely overwhelmed by offers to donate.

People are pulling together.
