Hello,

I have an application where I
need to switch the ac to power
the rest of my circuit. The
trick is I need to control the
number of whole cycles this
device will be on- controlled
by a pic of course. Preferably
the switching starts at zero
cross over and ends at zero as
well. I though of using a
thyristor and a zero crossing
detector. The immediate(sp?)
load will be a transformer
primary. I don't have
experience with power
controlling, so any hint in
the right direction would be
much appreciated.
