First, this is my own code. So no flaming.
I want to display the program memory that I've read from a chip with
ICD. I thought it was just a simple operation of displaying it with the
program memory window, but that just shows me empty memory. I know it is
reading something, as the config bits are updated after a read.
What am I missing here?

In case you were wondering: I accidently removed some code from the
program in MPLAB and saved it. Reading through the original program on
the chip will refresh my memory which code must come where and save
myself some time.
