Hi All

I have a need for an IR led and IR optotransistor. Something really basic
that will monitor mechanical movement over a short distance such as 10-20
mm. I know what it is that I need, I just don't have the part numbers, which
doesn't help when phoning electronic suppliers. If anyone has been using
something similar and you have the partnumbers I will appreciate it. I am
particularly interested in the low-cost plastic versions which are side
facing, so you can make them lie flat on their backs, which gives a good
space saving option.

Any information will be appreciated, even just a site which have it listed
with data and maybe some images.
