Alan, in fact this is precisely the scheme I plan to employ when I get to the point of having my bots navigate around multiple rooms inside the house. Each room will have at least 1 permanent beacon, with that in each room modulated at a different freq. Once the bot acquires a beacon, it will know what room it is in, and then it can use other techniques to map the room, but it will always have a fixed reference point to prevent getting hopelessly lost. Also, if it does get lost inside a room, it can go over to the beacon and start over. $1 beacon or $120 GPS??? - dan ================ -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
