I copy ASCII art diagrams to notepad where they normally display properly. Occasionally this doesn't work. The diagram you refer to was from me and displays correctly in the version you copied back. I do not go out of my way to use constant width font when sending - maybe I should. I'm not even aware that I can to do this explicitly in ASCII for part of a message using IE5. What email software are you using and how do you achieve this? .
