I SPICE'd a two-stage emitter follower on Friday, and it worked pretty well. Going to go ahead and build it today. Here's the schematic, it's pretty simple. But I'm also going to try your idea. My input voltage changes very slowly, and I'm only measuring it once in 30 seconds anyway, so a big Cap would not bother the circuit at all.
