It does not. It just helps keep it coordinated. Kind of like decreasing
the roll rate. Very useful with short wings. A rate gyro works better
imho. For example one of those from Murata or Tokin. A heli gyro could
also be used, mounted with the axis horizontal and parallel to the wings.
