I have just ran thru this last week. I spent more than 5 days with the help from everybody, and was not able to figure out what was wrong. However, valuable input from this list, led me to do the following: - disable PnP functionality from Bios (it did not matter in my case) - make sure you have your parallel port set to SPP (or normal) in the bios - make sure every point in the step-by-step testing procedure is followed and is ok - make sure you have the parallel port pin-out correct - verify the voltage levels on the parallel port are as expected (test it alone thru the DEBUG cmd in DOS or download any utility from the web). Really make sure that the port is working properly. I spent all the time on the circuit, to find after five days that the pin-out on the motherboard for the port is reversed. Good luck Alaa ---- Original Message ----- From: "James Fitzsimons" To: Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 2:04 AM Subject: [PIC]:morgan pic programmer won't work :-( > Hi there, > I have just assembled a morgan PIC programmer kit, purchased from Peter > Anderson.
