Hi Everyone. I've just wrapped up App Note AN-8 Implementing a Quad 1200 baud Full-Duplex Software UART with Salvo. It's now available on our website. This was a pretty interesting endeavor, as it illustrates how to use Salvo's tasks, task priorities and event services to do bit-banged serial comms on a PIC16F877, and still have plenty of processing power left over to do other things. AN-8 contains all the source code, etc. to give a detailed explanation of how it was implemented and why it works. The code for AN-8 will be included in the next release of all v2.3.0 Salvo PIC distributions, expected in about 1 month. With Salvo Lite (the freeware version of our RTOS) this application works with up to four transmitters and two receivers. So if you have a need for something like this, you may want to consider trying AN-8 with Salvo Lite v2.3 when it becomes available. Enjoy! -- ______________________________________ Andrew E.
