I see the scam has (apparently) moved from Nigeria to South > Africa, although where this person is actually based is of course > uncertain. I've had quite a few of these by letter, email and fax. They obviously find fax machines quite complicated as it it took them several goes to get the bit of paper to go through. (Probably worn out). What suprised me was that he phoned to make sure the fax came through OK. They do have a use though. Another con that was doing the rounds (until they recently got busted) was some supposed Investment brokers that were operating out of a basement in the Phillipines (I think). They put on a really hard sell and are impossible to get rid of, but if you tell them that you would be interested in their scheme and that you are expecting a large sum of money from Nigeria, they get all confused and hang up. :-) Steve. ====================================================== Steve Baldwin Electronic Product Design TLA Microsystems Ltd Microcontroller Specialists PO Box 15-680, New Lynn http://www.tla.co.nz Auckland, New Zealand ph +64 9 820-2221 email: steveb@tla.co.nz fax +64 9 820-1929 ====================================================== -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
