Then there was the "Gemini Patch", a large piece of double sticky tape put on the access hatches to the Gemini space capsules. Any loose bits floating around the capsule would become stuck to the patch and would no longer be a danger. I do that for underwater cameras I work on. I put a big piece of double sided carpet tape on the side of the housing where it won't get in the way. Every once in a while I find lock washers or other debris stuck to the tape, that would otherwise be bouncing off the lenses.
