Bad idea.  Microchip wouldn't have provided multiple power and ground pins
unless they were needed.  Yes, they are connected internally with a teeny
tiny little bond wire, but that's not the same as being shorted with a
decent copper trace externally.  I always make sure these pins are
connected to each other with as small a loop as possible.
