Hello Piclisters, some time ago i read a post from a list member wondering if the Optama Compiler is a new design or if it is probably a commercial version of the shareware c2c compiler. Meanwhile i had a closer look at it and therefore can state that the Optama C Compiler is absolutely not more and not less than the C2C plus Compiler version 4.007 from Pavel Baranov. (his own latest release) Both of them produce absolutely the same obj code from a given source. With 2 (3) differences: Optama comes complete with gpasm.exe and sasm.exe (which both are freeware) and it comes with a complete set of include files for all Pic4s. They are exactly the same ones that come free with MPLAB. (means they are copied out of the MPLAB package) And of course there is another difference: Optama is 8 times the price than the C2C shareware package was selled before. Btw. The c2c package is still available at Baranov4s homepage. At least at the moment. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
