I just measured one of mine.  It took 37 seconds to upload complete new
firmware execept the uploader itself on a 16F877 running at 20MHz using
115.2Kbaud.  However, the baud rate isn't an issue because the time is
dominated by the program memory writes.  All the data could have been
transferred in under 3 seconds if the writes were infinitely fast.
