I wonder how they measure performance. I did my thesis work on a Beowulf Cluster of SMP Linux machines. The overhead is can be made low when all your processes are running on a single machine, but when you spread them across the cluster, you start running into some bottlenecks. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: Russell McMahon [mailto:apptech@clear.net.nz] Sent: Monday, August 13, 2001 4:54 AM To: PICLIST@mitvma.mit.edu Subject: TINA - [OT]: Linux Beowulf Cluster Super Computer using PCs's Tina - a Beowulf-Super-Computer http://tina.nat.uni-magdeburg.de/ Performance specs & entry in Clusters Top 500 list ie rated as amongst the top 500 most powerful parallel processing systems on earth. http://clusters.top500.org/db/entry.php3?id=93 (I found this one while looking for information on optical head pointing disability aids :-) ) -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
