Basically I haven't been able to program anything buy a 16f84 with the YAP-II programmer. I love the 'f84 and all, but I need other features. I have tried several times to program a 16f628 and the chip gets hot, and doesn't program. I have spent some time investigating, and I don't know what the heck is going on. I also bought a few 16f877 parts, but can't get them to work either. (they don't get hot, though) Of course, I think I am hooking them up correctly, as far as I can tell from the programming spec datasheet. Anyway, I'm at my wits end here. Myke Predko (designer of YAP-II) has been nice enough to buy some 16f628 parts to try to figure it out, but with no luck yet. So, I saw this Warp-13 programmer on eBay, and it supposedly programs the 16f877. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with this programmer. Any input is welcome. I'm about to go crazy. -Steve -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
