There is lots of recreational marine stuff in our dumps. What I can't figure out is how it would be used. I suppose you could aim it at a target (it may have had a sighting device on top) and turn the knob until you heard a signal on the headphones, then read the range off of the meter. That seems cumbersome, and explains why I have only ever seen one of these.
