Hi, I have designed and built my own X10 receivers without needing the 523 interface. They use standard discrete components for interfacing with the mains. My units plug directly into the mains, and need no code switches for house/unit definition; they store this in the EEPROM. They also have some more features over the original modules. Also, they are based on the 16F84 / 16F628, chips which are more readily available and are current. Do you have a business proposition in mind? Do write back if you are interested.
