I use PCB by Omation. Old program that uses the PADS engine. I used to burn up the dongle every few months. They told me the last time that I would have to shell out about $4500 if it burned up again. They later changed to another cad engine for their software and did away with the dongle. However, I digress, we had some boards that were done off site and all we had were the schematics, check plot, and the boards. I managed to get a copy of the gerber files from the board house and found a program called EASYPC. It was from a company across the big lake over in th UK. Only a couple hundred for schematic and pcb programs. Good feature is that it would allow you to take the gerber file in and re-create your board so that it could be edited and updated as needed. Don't know if they are still in business but you might look. SkinTech wrote: ing a Boardmaker dongle > around, or is it possible to work without the dongle?
