I have played with a PIC16C84 a few years back and got mostly positive
results but this is a bit of a jump for me. Is it possible to transfer data
from a pic and/or connect EPROM to a text file on my personal computer. This
would most likely overwrite what is in the file but I may need to append it
in future projects.  As you can tell I am not fully up to speed here so any
help will be appreciated; links, tutorials, books, etc.

Also, I assume the PIC16C84 has a more current replacement.  Any suggestions
on this that would work with my old programmer? Budget is tight so I need to
do this the old el-cheapo way.
