One Geo Metro with bald tires and a wheezing go-kart engine, fun to drive but unreliable and easy to crash (98); One heavy-duty Cadillac pickup prone to engine compartment fires, highly useful when it works but expensive as hell and high maintenance (NT); And one homebuilt Gulfstream-V, fast, elegant, beautiful, highly useful, and only a few people kow how to even start the engines (Linux with X). Then there's my server - a cross between Humvee, armored personnel carrier, and rally car; fast, highly useful, bulletproof, runs forever, simple to use but you do need some training to know how to drive it. It's Linux without Xwindows. And of course the PICs running my apps -- a herd of semi-intelligent roller skates with attitude, don't do a lot but will do it forever.
