> Maybe - but realising there *is* a problem is at least on the road to
having the problem solved. There are a lot of people I speak to who get
very annoyed at the mere mentioning of how large their petrol car engine is
(not that diesel is any better). Check out the recent copy of New Scientist
to see who are the worst offenders in the "environmental footprint" stakes
(not that it is difficult to predict)

It's not just the scientists who are worried (although they are worried for
a different reason) - a recent report by insurance companies suggests that
the global economy will be bankrupt within 50 years due to environmental
problems and auxiallary effects. It also suggested that if people reduce
their energy usage by 90%, then there might be some reversal of fortunes.

So, looks like that's about it, then.
