If you set the code protect on the 'F877, you can still re-flash the chip any time you like can't you? It's just that you can't have a protected chip and a boot-loader at the same time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I understand it to work. If I'm right, the protect thing is not an issue for the rest of us who don't use boot-loaders.
