As you write is almost sure you've polarised in reversed way the sensor. It's no big deal, reverse again the Vcc with Gnd and you'll have about 2.7315V at 0C with 10mV increases every Celsius degree. Leave the adjusting pin open without any potentiometer conected to this pin.
