Don't know about the DC280, but on the DC40-120 when you send a
command in sleep mode they wake up and respond with data that indicates
that is was woke up and you must resend data. I just used the watchdog to
periodically send a command to keep the DC50 awake. I also set it to
maximum time till sleep(4 min) in the init routine.
