Yes, it no longer seems to be there. It was a part of the Parallax
"PIC16Cxx Applications Handbook 1.1". A google search finds many
mentions of this handbook, but no active links ...

Why don't you email them directly and see if it's still available?  I
downloaded it as a .pdf file long ago, and it does not appear to be
on any hard disk here. They had source on their web site, too --
RD_ENCDR.SRC.
