I've got a program of substantial size (fills the flash) written in Parallax SX-Key assembly language, running on the SX52. The lack of a hardware UART has become problematic. Design review suggests that a fast PIC might stand in for the SX52, because other functions currently implemented in code could also be replaced with PIC hardware. So, I'm wondering if there's a PIC assembler that's completely equivalent to the SX-Key assembler. Parallax sold their PIC development tools to somebody, right? Comments, anyone?
