You've been given some good info specific to your camera, but I'd like to=

point out a good general source for digital camera protocol info: the
source code of gPhoto (http://www.gphoto.org), a digital camera utility f=

Linux which supports hundreds of cameras.  This may not be appropriate fo=
r
all projects, as gPhoto is under the GPL and I have no idea what the
implications are of having GPL'ed code embedded in a hardware device.
