You might want to check out something called "SmartTemp" It sends the temp value as a pulsetrain all you haveto do is to check the ratio between low-high and the % is linear to the temp. They even supply PIC asm demo. Extremly simple principle : Just sample say 1000 samples and count all high and all lows u get. That will give you the ratio ! The senssor itself is TO92 (very small, looks like a small transistor) and it comes lasertrimmed to better than 0.5-1 degree celsious depending on which casing you choose. Cable lenght can be very long. If this seems interesting I can dig out some old ASM I did way back to test it. And some more detailed info. /PJ From: "Pedro Drummond" > It will run up to my house's roof, to measure water temp on pipes that are > heated by sun panels. Maybe 15 to 20 meters total length, at the most. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you. See http://www.piclist.com/#topics
